I’ve heard of people getting religion, but a dog?  That takes the cake!

The St. Francis Monastery in Cochabamba, Bolivia apparently adopted the stray pooch and somehow converted it in a humorous way.

Meet Friar Carmelo, aka Friar Bigotón (Friar Moustache), the stray doggie who just became a member of a St Francis Monastery in Bolivia:

Not too shabby, eh?

According to a few news outlets; the stray doggie became a member of a St Francis Monastery in Cochabamba, Bolivia.  St. Francis of Assisi, which the Franciscan order was established is also known as the patron saint of animals, so it’s only a natural conclusion that the monks have extended their helping hand to the adorable little pooch living on the streets.

Man’s best friend is also a saint’s best friend too!  He’s been given a loving home amongst the monks therein, and I bet it feels like “heaven” to him, too.  He also even gets to wear a habit. Maybe inspired by his outfit, the doggie was caught seriously attending to his monk duties.  So yeah, he probably got religion while there, too!

This joyous little pooch became famous when Kasper Mariusz Kaproń Ofm took photos of him and shared it all on Facebook to every pet-lover’s delight.

And the rest is viral sensation history!

Gotta love him, the little guy is absolutely adorable!   I have a feeling somewhere along the line, Disney may take inspiration and make a film based on him.
